CHILDREN
At First Presbyterian Church of East Jordan, the heart of our children’s ministry is helping kids discover who God is and how God’s Word speaks into their everyday lives in creative, meaningful, and memorable ways. Through engaging lessons, caring volunteers, and our close-knit Junior Church program, children are encouraged to grow in a genuine relationship with God.
We want children to know that the Bible is filled with stories that still matter today, that fun and laughter absolutely belong in church, that worship can be joyful, and that there are adults here who truly care about them and want to help them grow closer to Jesus. In other words, we want kids to discover that where God is, life is full of joy!
Each Sunday during worship, children of all ages are invited forward for a special Children’s Message just prior to the sermon. Following the message, children ages four and up are welcome to participate in Junior Church, held in our lower-level gathering room.
Our Junior Church program uses the Young Children in Worship curriculum, which invites children to experience God through storytelling, wonder, movement, and creativity. Bible stories are shared in a circle using wooden figures and symbolic “parable boxes,” allowing children to see, touch, and interact with the story in meaningful ways. Children are then given opportunities to respond through art, storytelling materials, and hands-on activities.
The worship space is thoughtfully designed specifically for children and follows a simple order of worship similar to the sanctuary service, but in a way that is engaging and appropriate for young learners.
STUDENTS
At First Presbyterian Church of East Jordan, our Youth Group is designed to help students grow in faith, friendship, and service in a welcoming and supportive environment. Youth in grades 6–12 are invited to participate in our hybrid Youth Group, which meets during part of the worship service and continues immediately afterward.
Together, we study the Bible, serve our community through service projects, and enjoy fun activities, events, and adventures throughout the year. Whether you have grown up in church or are simply curious about faith, you are welcome here. Come join us!
ADULTS
At First Presbyterian Church of East Jordan, there are opportunities for adults to grow in faith, friendship, and community as well! Whether you are young or old, single or married, lifelong Christian or simply exploring faith, there is a place for you here.
Throughout the year, we offer quarterly Adult Bible Studies that encourage meaningful conversation and spiritual growth. Check with us to find out when the next study will begin! We also gather weekly for devotional yoga, combining prayer, reflection, and movement in a peaceful and welcoming setting.
For those who enjoy music, the Choir and Bell Choir provide wonderful opportunities for worship, fellowship, and creativity. In addition, on the second Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m., we host our Meet and Eat dinner—a relaxed evening of good food, laughter, and fellowship together. Everyone is welcome!
